New Fire Asset Protection Trailers Roll Into Town

This week, our Fire Chief Jason Kuras brought back two Asset Protection Trailers, designed for rapid deployment in the event of wildfires and major property fires in or near our community.

Each trailer is equipped with durable water pumps that are designed to reliably run for weeks on end, as well as two 1500-gallon portable reservoirs, hoses, fuel, several varieties of sprinklers, and all of the equipment you might need to install and maintain the sprinkler systems through a prolonged emergency event.

Each trailer has enough equipment to protect up to 200 homes or structures, depending on neighbourhood density. The sprinkler systems are designed to prevent embers and nearby flames from igniting structures by keeping them soaked and cool.
